Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, president of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will write a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi inviting him to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh to perform ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ for the proposed Ram temple during the month of Shravan.
Speaking to India Today, the spokesperson of Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, Mahant Kamal Nayan Das said, “UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath came to meet the president of the temple trust and enquired about his health. Both also discussed preparations that are being made for the grand Ram temple construction in Ayodhya.”
“The trust is fully prepared and Nritya Gopal Das will be writing a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday or Tuesday inviting him to Ayodhya. We want PM Modi to perform ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ during the month of Shravan, which is considered as one of the holiest months as per the Hindu calendar,” Mahant Kamal Nayan Das said.
He also added, “We were expecting the ‘Bhoomi Poojan’ to be performed earlier but the plan got delayed due to the coronavirus. The trust has made all the arrangements and we appeal to the PM to come and do the rituals.”
The month of Shravan will begin from July 6.
The proposed ‘Bhumi Poojan’ programme, originally scheduled on July 2 has already been postponed in light of recent developments between India and China in Ladakh, a press statement issued by the trust on June 18 clarified.
On June 10, the prominent seers of Ayodhya had performed a ‘Rudrabhishek’ at the proposed site of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple.
Authorities of the trust had even claimed to have found the remains of ancient temples at the proposed site of temple construction during levelling work. However, the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) is yet to issue clarity in this regard.
